Presented by Jim Bush
Attendees: 13

Jim shared many types of Malware he has experienced in his computer support-on Macs and Windows computers. Tonight was focused on Macs but the concepts are appropriate for Windows computers too.
Jim wanted to point out that some of tonight’s content was from a previous presentation made by Ron Fugazzi on “Malware – What it is and how to avoid it.
Jim’s presentation addresses these and many other questions:
- What types of Malware one can encounter, including some of the most troublesome.
- What can we do to avoid Malware.
- What software can we use to remove Malware if we get it?
“We don’t need extra knowledge or training. We need vigilance” says Jim. Please don’t fall for the scam where a Microsoft or Apple representative calls and says they are reaching out because your computer has viruses or malware. We have now heard where web sites have appeared to represent Apple Support and asks you to call or click. Please avoid this. For your safety, go directly to a manufacturer’s website (www.apple.com or www.microsoft.com) and go to their specific Support pages.
