  • Do I need new software to do this renaming or can I do in Windows?

Saving, Arranging, Sharing Photos

Below are questions from the meeting and we will do our best to include answers in future meeting topics and/or one on one meetings. Please keep us honest.

If you have other questions, or if I missed any, please put them in the comments on this page and we will answer them soon.

  • Can you show an example of getting photos from a smartphone to the PC? Use Dropbox or OneDrive or other cloud service.
  • Question about saving photos (or documents) from an email. Where does it save to? If there isn’t a save dialog box, then the program likely has a setting for the default save to folder. Typically the Download folder. The Download folder is in the same place as the Documents folder or Pictures folder and Videos folder and Music folder.
  • I want to send a sub-selection of photos from an email to other people. In other words, delete some of the photos and send.
  • How do I save photos from Facebook?
  • How can I put multiple photos to a Facebook post?
NOTE: Please see the photo taken during this meeting on the About the Summerset Computer Club page.

Windows 10 for Beginners Part 2 of 5

Windows 10 Desktop a

Presented by Jeff Hensel

Attendees: 24

This weeks topic included how to see the apps on the computer. This means old apps and any new apps provided with Windows 10. Jeff shared how the Settings app is in the process of replacing the Control Panel of old. And lastly, we got a look at the new File Explorer (formerly Windows Explorer) and some of it’s basic features but more importantly, confirm that previous documents and photos are right where they left them before upgrading.

We learned that all of our documents, photos and apps are still there after upgrading to Windows 10. Regarding older apps however, Windows 10 might NOT bring some older apps forward but it will reveal this during the upgrade process and you can decide to stop the upgrade at that time. We will spend detailed time on the upgrade process in part 5 of Windows 10 for Beginners.

We got another look at portions of Windows 10 so folks can get a closer look before deciding if upgrading is for them. Next month Jeff will go into more detail on the included apps with Windows 10. There are 24 of them!

See Jeff’s presentation below that also includes his speaker notes.
